Not Exactly what was planned...

Well, Saturday was supposed to end up with Bee getting home around 9ish and us going out for the night. He text me at 5pm to tell me that Friday night they ate, had a few beers around the campfire and turned in around 11ish. Only to be woken up at 6:30am for breakfast, which was HUGE, then they put them to work. Yes. That's right. Work. He was handed an axe and him, our friend John, and about 7 other guys that came up were asked to clear trees. About a thousand of them. For real. Granted, they were no bigger than 2 inches in diameter, but still. It was a lot of physical labor. They worked until 5pm when they were so tired they couldn't lift the axe any longer. They then were fed (Bee says it was an AWESOME dinner, fit for a king). He said he was so tired and if he tried to come home then, he would surely fall asleep on the 3 1/2 hour drive home.

I was deflated. I really was looking forward to spending some quality time with him away from the house and kids....and xbox. However, I thought it was hilarious he was duped :) I told him, "See, if you would have stayed here with us, you could have been relaxing". He laughed, but all in all, he did manage to have fun. He did get to go out on the 4 wheeler for a bit, and shoot his guns. And he missed me! I don't think he let me get more than 5 feet away from him the rest of the weekend haha!

Sunday was a good day for this black and gold household. "C's" football team won in a hard fought, nail biter of a game 8-6. Then, we went and celebrated with CiCi's pizza, and a trip to Dick's (ALWAYS have to go in there when we go to CiCi's since they're right next door), and Radio Shack to get a coax cable for "C's" TV that stopped working. As a bonus, I got a case and cool mirrored screen protector for my ipod touch, courtesy of Bee. Then, we came home to watch the Steeler's win their hard fought battle with the Falcons 15-9. Then, Bee and I cuddled on the couch and took a nap. "C" played with friends while the other two were in their rooms due to being on punishment. They are free starting today, however, "C" managed to get herself a day in the "hole", due to the fact I had to wheel the garbage out to the curb since she didn't do it. Maybe they'll learn eventually. Maybe.

This week is going to be a busy one. "C" has practice, "C's" 10th birthday is Wednesday, Bee has practice because they decided to play another game or two and it's my mom's birthday on Friday. Ugh. I hope we make it! ha!

I wonder if my kids will ever learn as well...if the kids don't finish their chores in the morning, they don't get to have friends over after school. They complete their chores and do one extra job for me. Most of the time they finish, but when they don't, they are always shocked to hear that I am enforcing the consequences (like this AM). I am hanging tough. Someday, maybe...
